SpeedTest Servers

Members at the forum are wondering why SpeedTest.Net's Singapore server is more oftenly used compared to our own server sponsored by BayanTel Communications Inc. located somewhere at the city of Quezon. So much more, here's a heads up from a certain member:

The servers at the country are a little bit old-fashioned (meaning, luma na) compared with Singapore's server which do run better since the ease of technology their is better as compared with our own country. So, I recommend using the one's at Jakarta, Japan nor Singapore.

I don't know how this idea came about but hey, who are we to blame him. Maybe it's the reality.

Run Multiple Yahoo! Messenger Accounts

Ever wanted to run multiple Yahoo! Messenger accounts? Here's a simple registry hack that I've found on the internet.

1. Simply download the ym8multi.zip and extract.
2. Then double-click the registry document and choose "Yes".

From now on, you could now start running a number of Yahoo! Messenger accounts at once.

Demonoid's Back

Last night, I Remember those days when Demonoid's torrent website closed down? This has been a shocking news to almost all members, however, it's a good thing that they're back again.

Welcome back!

Since a few months ago, Deimos, the site administrator, lacks the necessary time to take care of the website, because of personal matters he's been needing to attend to. For this reason, he has decided to leave the site staff.

Before leaving, he assigned a new site administrator from among his friends to take care of the site. The old moderator team will continue helping with the site, unchanged. We will try to keep running everything just as it always has been.

The trackers and website seem to be working properly, and should any issues arise, they will be taken care of as soon as possible. The site might be going on and offline over the next days as we work out any problems.

Welcome back, and enjoy your stay!

Smart Bro - Email Activation Guide

I just downloaded an MS Word document from Smart Incorporated about e-mail activation (user@smartbro.net) - This e-mail address goes together with the Plan 999 in their broadband service called Smart Bro. Downloading a copy wouldn't hurt, so click the download icon below and activate yours:

This e-mail account is powered by Horde Mail, that's what the script used is called. However, I don't use the e-mail account that often since I'm more on Yahoo! Mail due to it's incomparable features and ease of use.

Globe partners with AeroMobile

In line with Globe Incorporated's company thrust to provide subscribers with relevant and easy-to-use services, Globe has just signed-up with an agreement with AeroMobile that will allow Globe postpaid subscribers to enjoy airline roaming.

Globe postpaid subscribers need not worry about potential adverse effects of the mobile phone’s signal on the aircraft’s systems as the AeroMobile system is designed so that it does not affect any other aircraft systems or sub systems. The AeroMobile system controls all mobile phones on the aircraft so that they operate at the minimum power level.
Globe is on a mission not only to relentlessly provide international roaming breakthroughs that make the company the leader in this arena, but also to make the world smaller by bridging the distance between continents.

With more than 450 roaming partners in over 200 destinations worldwide that support the system, Globe’s airline roaming service is proof of an on-going effort to keep Globe subscribers connected all the time, wherever they are in the world.

I'm still on the search on what will be the edge of this new service on their counterpart, Smart Incorporated.

Contact PLDT Thru E-mail?

I just discovered that sending a support query or question about DSL connections and phone lines could be also done through e-mails. Rogue2007 posted at the forum this e-mail address rbgdsl_helpdesk@pldt.com.ph and according to him, response was an instant one. However, I don't ensure these since I haven't tested it out because I'm not a PLDT subscriber.

Let's Save Windows XP!

Microsoft's Windows XP (eXPerience) is soon to lose support from their creators by the end of June 2008 according to certain sources. However, the latest OS Windows Vista would have been better if it could run low-end computers and as for some it's still a resource hogger which I believe it's not. Moreover, here's an article that I've browsed on InfoWorld last March 25, 2008 entitled Save WinXP.

Quoting some statement on their website:

Microsoft will end OEM and shrink-wrapped sales of Windows XP on June 30, 2008, forcing users to shift to Vista. (System builders, meaning those who do white-box PCs, can sell XP through December 31.) Don't let that happen!

Millions of us have grown comfortable with XP and don't see a need to change to Vista. It's like having a comfortable apartment that you've enjoyed coming home to for years, only to get an eviction notice. The thought of moving to a new place -- even with the stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and maple cabinets (or is cherry in this year?) -- just doesn't sit right. Maybe it'll be more modern, but it will also cost more and likely not be as good a fit. And you don't have any other reason to move. [...]

Remember, the clock ticks and time is limited. So, let your vote be counted and you're voice, be heard.
